While these clues aren’t an outright confirmation that Gwen is alive and well in the game’s universe, it does imply that the devs may be saving her for a future storyline. If you’re a fan of the Spider-Man series, you might not love every minute, but you’ll definitely get a kick out of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.If Gwen is alive, it would line up with the fact that Norman Osborn has not yet become the Green Goblin in Insomniac’s universe, who infamously is responsible for Gwen’s death in other storylines. Despite these issues, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is a surprisingly hard-hitting comic-book film with plenty of memorable scenes. Unfortunately, the story can feel awkwardly paced and drawn out, especially when it deals with the romantic subplot of Peter and Gwen. It offers more high-flying superhero action with a good balance of drama and intrigue, making for an entertaining thrill ride. If you enjoyed the first movie, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy the movie. Apart from a few silly costume choices, there are very few complaints when it comes to the action in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Especially in battles with Electro, the action scenes are packed with color, speed, and style. The film has some fantastic action and impressive special effects, including fun slow-motion fight scenes and exciting chase sequences. A good portion of the movie feels like a lead-up to an eventual third movie, which unfortunately will never come to fruition. The big issues with the movie come from its plot, which is packed to the brim with excessive characters, unneeded scenes, and unfinished story arcs. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 can feel corny from time to time, but for the most part, the action is fantastic and the performances are effective.
